Happy birthday to Charlotte Brontë (21 April, 1816 – 31 March, 1855)!

“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.”

Just a week until RavenCon. If you don't have anything scheduled and aren't hung over from the previous night, on Sunday at 0900 I'll be running The Doom That Came to Atlantic City. This is sort of an anti-Monopoly where you play as Cthulhu and his buddies as they destroy Atlantic City.

Thanks a million for the invitation! That sounds like a hoot. I'll confess to being very interested in all the Lovecraft-related games, even though I'm wholly inexperienced as a gamer myself. I don't even play the mundane board games that seem to be everywhere. (That way lies madness: I think I have a gene that has "ridiculously competitive" etched on it, which sort of takes the fun out of playing.) I think I'm probably better suited to watching with interest rather than participating. Even so, it does sound like a lot of fun.

At the moment I'm trying to figure out how to wedge in a very quick work-related offsite dash without missing out on the main programming, and I'm not sure yet if Sunday morning will end up being my best (only?) option. But if I've marked this down, and if I'm there at the hotel, I'll take you up on that.

Thanks again for thinking of me! One way or the other, it will be great to see you again.

Ridiculously competitive is perfectly fine. But I would insist that you not flip the table should you fare poorly.

But that's my signature move! *g*

Seriously, I'm afraid that it looks like Sunday morning is the only time that will accommodate my offsite dash, so it looks like I need to pass on your invitation with regrets. Many thanks though! That said, I look forward to getting to say hello to you in person. It's been ages! Given our similar tastes in genre fare, I'm sure our paths will cross often over the weekend.
