Today's quote and photo come from an exhibit at the Polk County History Museum in Columbus, North Carolina.

"MYSTERY MARKER"

"Martha is buried in Mill Spring with a newer marker. The mystery is how did this marker get enclosed in a wall at the old St. Luke's Hospital? It was found during renovation work on June 15, 1996. Please notice the death date on Martha's marker."

Obviously.... The Doctor, taking care of his Martha (the "E" before "Green" stands for "Ever"), making sure she's got a fab marker and a safe resting place....

Alonsy!

(it was just a simple step to adjust the whole weeping angels vs Rory and Amy (and the resultant tombstone)....

Martha ain't dead, she's just in an alternate time stream.

Huh. Maybe NO ONE is dead, they are just in an alternate time-stream. Thats a comforting thought!

How very odd, but touching, especially to be found exactly 100 years later to the day. Love historical mysteries!

Isn't that fascinating? There I was in the museum, looking for William Gillette's Sherlock Holmes memorabilia, and this just ambushed me. Odd and touching, indeed!

Good question! ;-)

It was a spooky thing to stumble across in the museum, to be sure.
