At the moment I'm writing an academic essay on Dark Academia for an upcoming book, and I'm also planning to teach a graduate course on it next year, so I've been immersed in research on this topic for while. I put this monthly post-a-thon together mostly from my research, including applying the definition retroactively to find older works that set the stage for the current explosion of books/authors.

There are some great reading/recommendation lists online (for example, this one). Some of the book lists on Goodreads are useful, too. There have also been some online events lately with DA authors (hosted by publishers and libraries), and I've been taking notes about their influences and suggestions of forthcoming works. I follow a lot of book reviews/book bloggers, especially on Twitter (which is my main social media place -- I'm also posting these posts there, too).
