eldritchhobbit: (Christmas/Book/Special Holiday by raebir)

Hello everyone! I probably won't be posting much for the next several days: first, because I am, as Ned Flanders would say, "hepped up on goofballs" (antibiotics and other various medications, because nothing says Christmas quite like an upper respiratory infection); and second, because my family from Oklahoma will arrive tomorrow to spend the holidays with us.

I will be thinking of everyone, though, and wishing you a wonderful season. Thank you for all you have done to make LJ-land so warm and welcoming! I look forward to many more terrific discussions after the holidays. May peace, joy, and love be yours.

And now, for the quote of the day, from the "Billy Mack" of Love, Actually, and the awful little song that could (which never fails to make me smile):

I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes
Christmas is all around me, and so the feeling grows
It's written in the wind, it's everywhere I go
So if you really love Christmas, c'mon and let it snow!

Hi,

Thanks for your reply to my email; it's always nice to confirm that your feedback actually gets to where it's supposed to, when it's for old stories. I agree with you totally about Janeway's characterisation in canon.

And on the subject of your "warped" story motivation for *The Mention That I Miss*, I think it's a perfectly reasonable explanation. I suspect that warped motivation is sometimes a good thing anyway. I've recently taken to writing dark, bitter Labyrinth fics as an antidote to the vast amount of saccharine drivel that floods that fandom. Possibly a rather nasty motivation, but hey, it works for me :)

Happy New Year!

LOL! Thank you again for your wonderful feedback - and your commiseration about canon, characterizations, and warped motivations. :) And happy new year to you, too!
