request for recommendations: pumpkin spice coffee

One of my favorite things about Fall is pumpkin... well, pumpkin everything. I love the sight of pumpkins, the smell, and especially the taste. I eat pumpkin bread, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin seeds, etc.

When I'm out on the town, I enjoy Starbucks' pumpkin spice lattes. But I also enjoy making pumpkin spice coffee when I'm at home. At the moment, I'm using Gevalia's pumpkin spice decaf coffee blend. It's good, definitely spicey, but it's rather low on the pumpkin taste itself. This brings me to my question:

Can anyone recommend a good pumpkin-flavored coffee for home brewing? (Thanks in advance!)

The Coffee Shop of Horrors has some really good coffee (at least considering the amount witchcat07 gets from there :P One specialty coffee they had was Pumpkin Spice. Specifically, Elvira's Double D-licious Pumpkin Spice coffee :P I can't find it on their website unfortunately. However, it may be new and they haven't updated their page yet or you might be able to contact them and ask for it :)

As for tea, lately I have really been enjoying several Celestial Seasoning's Chai teas. I especially like the Indian Spice Chai, whether from Tazo, Celestial, or Stash (I think I prefer the Stash Chai). I also have a private stash of African Honeybush from Denmark that is exceptionally good :)

Just a note, if it's actual pumpkin taste you're going for, I'm not sure the Elvira coffee has it either. Most of the pumpkin coffees I have sampled have tasted more like the pumpkin spice. As it is, I would have to taste the coffee again before I could say if it is one of those or not. Will get back to you...

It sounds like I need to check out their blend, regardless. I just love this website. Thanks so much for recommending it! The names of the blends are a hoot. And I'm glad to see there's some decaf, too. I tend to like Mexican coffees a lot - I may have to give their "Montezuma's Revenge" a try soon, too. But it looks like there are lots of yummy - and clever! - choices. I'm definitely bookmarking this. Thanks again!

LOL, I do it the other way. Tea in the morning and throughout the day and then occasionally coffee in the evening. I am something of a coffee minimalist, though. The closest thing I come to pumpkin coffee unless I indulge at Starbucks is throwing a little cinnamon into the grounds.

Thanks! :) It's obviously a quest on which the fate of the earth balances. LOL! I admire your coffee purism. Nine times out of ten I'm a straight up Mexican or Sumatran dark roast, no milk or sugar, but I fall off the purist wagon when either cinnamon or pumpkin comes onto the scene. :) (And I occasionally indulge in a grasshopper, the ever-lovely chocolate-mint-espresso concoction. Okay, maybe I'm not that much of a purist after all! LOL.) At any rate, I appreciate your good wishes on my quest. After all this talking, I think I'll be forced to make pumpkin muffins this weekend. It simply must be done! :)

Not sure about the coffee but don't forget to try Baskin Robbins' Pumpkin Pie ice cream! Only available through Oct/Nov. It used to be my favorite flavor... Until I moved where there are no BR's. :-(

Pumpkins are my favorite! My kitchen is decorated in vintage Halloween. You have try Starbucks' pumpkin cream cheese muffins. Gods! They are divine! I also discovered this harvest spice white hot chocolate. Its like drinking pumpkin pie. I know that sounds kind of vile but it tastes sooooooo gooood. I'll find out the brand and get back to you. Pumpkins! Woo hoo!

I've heard that Green Mountain Coffee Roasters makes an awesome Pumpkin Spice coffee ... personally, I drink tea (Earl Grey - hot!) but I have some coffee-drinking friends who say it's wonderful. Hope you find a good one!!
