Can't you see he's white and nerdy? Weird Al is still crazy (and fantastic) after all these years.

In other news, a number of science fiction/fantasy/horror raffle items were added over the weekend for the Apex fundraiser:

"I memorized Holy Grail really well.
I can recite it right now and have you ROTFLOL."
"White and Nerdy," Weird Al Yankovic

OMG. I don't know what's funnier... That it's Donny Osmond or that Donny Osmond looks so freaking much like Robert Llewellyn. ROFLOL!

And now for something completely different... There's a raffle item that is just the coolest idea EVER... An answering machine recording by _fill-in-the-blank_. I can't tell you how much money I'd give for something like that from certain people. What a *great* idea!

Why do I have the sneaking suspicion that your message would be "You can leave a message, but no one's listening, sweetheart. BEEP!"? *wink*

It is a clever idea, isn't it?

Too funny! But, I guess I am not nerdy enough, what the hell is ROTFLOL.

Dude, I hope there isn't like, a minimum for that raffle thing. I couldn't afford much (Hey, I'm waiting for the "support Em so she can write fulltime" raffle, myself. LOLOL), but I put in what I could. There...isn't a minimum, is there? ::gulp:: I've heard great things about that magazine, hate to see it fold.

Hey there! My understanding is that the minimum is just a $1 bid. They're hoping for lots of participation, so the bids will add up over the week. Thanks for kicking in. The editor's a class act, and I, like you, really hate to see the publication fold.

When your "Support Em" raffle is up, I'll be there with bells on!!! :)

Cool. I keep thinking amounts like mine won't do much for overhead, but I suppose every bit counts, right? Rock on.

I'm really tempted to say that "White and Nerdy" is even better than the music video for "Amish Paradise!" :D Thanks for sharing this with us!

I agree! This one makes up for the lack of Florence Henderson with Seth Green and Donny Osmond. :)

OMG! I actually did ROTFLOL! hehe!

I had to wait all day to get home so I could watch this, lol

There are quite a few things on the Apex fundraiser that were too much coolness! Especially for a chick who's white and nerdy.

Isn't it a hoot? I kept thinking "That's me!" (I think I made the exact same face when I got my copy of the Star Wars Christmas Special. LOL!)

LOL! Very true. :) It's been exciting to see how generous people have been in donating things, especially A-list authors with their books. I know the folks at Apex have been happily surprised by the great response.

*snork* Yes, that is a pretty good one. They should get the rights and play it at Dragon*Con next year. ;~)

Yes indeed! By the way, do you ever go to MidSouthCon in Memphis? I've gone several years, and since it has such great panels, authors, filking, and costuming, it struck me that you might enjoy it, too.

Will have to confer with the Hubster on that. It probably depends on what time of year it is and what else might be going on.

I liked what they had on the Adult Swim bumpers last night after Robot Chicken, Seth Green's show. It said

"If we had told you 20 years ago that Michael Jackson = Flameout and Weird Al = Still Relevant, you would have laughed your head off at us."

It's funny, because it's true. And they had that because Seth and his guys did the video for "Weasel Stomping Day" and premiered it last night during the show. Twas funny.

Ha! Very, very true. I guess the good guys do finish first sometimes, don't they? :) Hope you're feeling better, BTW.

And it's always nice when they do. *raises a lighter for Al*

As for better, it comes and goes. :/
