* John Scalzi has posted a list of the Top 50 Science Fiction/Fantasy Personal Blogs.
* Last year was the first time The Library of America ever printed a volume by an author who solely wrote SF. (The book was H.P. Lovecraft's Tales). Now The Library of America has announced its second SF volume, due in June 2007: Four Novels of the 1960s by Philip K. Dick. The contents will include The Man in the High Castle, The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, and Ubik.
After I give a final exam today, I am off to Los Angeles to co-lead a colloquium on Literature and Politics sponsored by the Institute for Humane Studies. (My half of the event will cover SF dysopias generally, and George Orwell's 1984 and Ayn Rand's Anthem, specifically.) I'll be back online by Monday, and ready to give the last of my final exams on Tuesday. And that's the end of the semester!
I wish everyone a great weekend.
"But you see," Provoni said, "they're the same way. There is an invasion of Earth by nonterrestrials, and everyone - everyone! - wants merely to continue living... Do you know what the French gentry were afraid of during the Revolution? They were afraid someone would come in and smash their pianos. Their narrow vision..." He broke off. "Which even I share," he said aloud, "to an extent."

Date: 2006-12-13 08:47 pm (UTC)Did you ever download the CiN concert (I sent you a link a while back) - Also a must have as it carries it's own charm hearing the live performance versions of certain pieces. I almost wish they would release an official recording of that as well (although the rips are pretty darn good quality.)

Ack! I am an idiot. I just went back through your messages and I found that one. Somehow it had gotten lost. I never even saw it! *headdesk* I apologize for being clueless. I am going to run to the links and see if everything is still available. It sounds fabulous! Many, many thanks! *hugs and then scampers off*

See ya when ya get back!
