Halloween Countdown, Day 11
Oct. 11th, 2009 09:02 am* From io9: "8 Horror Webcomics to Read in the Dark."
* Thanks to everyone who participated in my Creepy Fictional Children poll. At the time of this posting, the results are as follows:
First Place: Jamie in "The Empty Child"/"The Doctor Dances" from Doctor Who (2005)
Second Place: a tie between Damien Thorn from The Omen (1976) and Claudia from Interview with the Vampire (1994)
Third Place: a tie between the children from Village of the Damned (1960) and Anthony Fremont in "It's A Good Life"/"It's Still A Good Life" from The Twilight Zone (1961/2003)
I'll be posting a new poll in a few days.
* This week a new documentary on H.P. Lovecraft called Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown will be available on DVD. Here's the trailer:
Spooky Text of the Day: Today's story is the "The Last Lords of Gardonal" (1867) by William Gilbert.
Excerpt:
"Pardon my boldness, your excellency," said Ludovico, "but I was afraid you might be ill. I trust I am in error."
"What should make you think I am unwell?" inquired the baron.
"Your highness's countenance is far paler than usual, and there is a small wound on the side of your throat. I hope you have not injured yourself."
