Yesterday's poll about favorite Halloween TV specials/episodes had a clear winner: It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! Thanks to all who participated.
So here's an appropriate wish for you all:
Can anyone recommend good Halloween music mixes? So far I've really enjoyed the Halloween mix by
maidoforange, "Songs of Death and Wickedness" by
fyrdrakken, and "Music for Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse" by
baylor_mixes.
Incidentally, I also would suggest checking out "Revolution Science Fiction's 2005 Halloweenie Boonanza of Geek-Centric Fun 'n Such" and the History Channel's "History of Halloween" site.
And now a poem for the day:
In tombs of gold and lapis lazuli
Bodies of holy men and women exude
Miraculous oil, odour of violet.
But under heavy loads of trampled clay
Lie bodies of the vampires full of blood;
Their shrouds are bloody and their lips are wet.
"Oil and Blood," William Butler Yeats

Date: 2005-10-29 06:27 pm (UTC)If you can find it, there's a great CD called "Immortal Kiss of the Vampire" by Lee Blaske, which has some great piano pieces followed by a mildly pretensious dramatic reading of a Vampire about his unlife.
Hummm, activating Google...The Buffy Musical "Once More with Feeling" is a good choice...here we are. It has a follow-up disk called "Behind the Day: Journy of the Vampire". Free samples can be found here. Rut-roh, it looks like it's out of print. Yee! It's going for $30 online, used. It's good, but not that good. Let me know if you're desperate to hear it.
The best Halloween Mix I own, I just got in the mail from my editor, a homebrew mix with movie clips (which I mentioned in my LJ). If you want, I'll send you a full track list. I also made my own mix a few years back with Rob Zombie, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (get Murder Ballads!), Siouxie and the Banshees, Elfman, and so forth. Again, I'll give you a full track list upon request.

Honestly, I've been listening a lot to the Best of Millennium soundtrack (oh, how I adored that show), which is creepy, creepy goodness. But I am always up for more creepy goodness!
